I’ve been napping ALOT recently. My schedule is such that I wake around 7, go out to schools and do some observations, then i’m usually free around 2. On the drive back to Seattle from my observations i start getting sleepy. Instead of going to work and doing all the stuff I need to do, I go home and take a nap. The problem is that after I wake up I don’t go back to work or get anything done. It’s like I just thow the rest of the day away. My goal is to nap only on the weekends (after my long runs).

I’ve heard from several different sources that a 20-30 minute nap can actually be good for you and re-energize you. What I need to do is cut down on the lengths of my naps and do something more productive with my free time.
tomorrow is friday and I have not taken a nap at all this week. i’ve also been working like a maniac and have not been able to come home during my usual naptime. I’m not feeling any more/less tired than usual. I am getting a lot more done, though.
over the weekend I took two naps. my saturday nap was completely unnecessary. i was just avoiding doing stuff around the house. my sunday nap was justifiable, after the 8 mile run i did in the a.m. this week my goal is to make it the whole work week with no naps.
Yesterday was another cold day, and I soooo wanted to take a nap. I did actually crawl into bed, but I just played on my DS without falling asleep. Then, I got up and went for my hill run which made me feel much more refreshed than a nap!
I caved in today and took a two hour nap. I always say it’s because I’m feeling a bit sick, but I think it’s really just that I’m cold and I need to relax. I’m not very good at relaxing when I’m awake.
my grad school schedule is quite flexible and I’ve gotten in the bad habit of taking naps around 3pm. I’d like to blame it on the Seattle winter, but really this has been going on since summer. For now, my goal is to nap only on the weekends.
Naps are no longer a common occurrence for me. I’m proudly marking this one as done!!! I take have been taking naps about once every three weeks or so and that my friend is great for me. It used to be a daily thing. NOT ANYMORE!

Anyone else with this goal get an email about a website that gives tips on forming new habits? I got an email about a month ago asking me to write about trying to stop napping for them. I accidently deleted the email and would love the address to the website because it seemed pretty interesting.
Thanks!
