get the dang financial report done AND have fun doing it!

I checked the figures in the 2006 report, & they didn’t even (quite) jive. Whew, I realized, I can do better than that!

I finally finished & sent the report off to everyone just now, & I’ll turn over the books to the next person whenever she’s ready.

I did have fun (though not the time of my life) doing this. But so glad it will be years before our turn comes round again!

This past year it was my turn to serve as treasurer for our condo association. Our building has just six units & is self-managed, & the books are kept on old-fashioned ledger paper(!). They’re really not very complicated, but I have had lots of reasons AND excuses to put off doing the 2007 report & handing over the books to the next person. Of course I have continued to pay the bills in the meantime, so my delay has not been a problem for anyone . . . but STILL, this has gotten riDICulous.

Plan: A nice beer is in the fridge, & I am going to make popcorn & put on some good music or maybe listen to NPR. And I am going to get this done tonight. Unless of course the figures refuse to reconcile & I am forced to ask for my husband’s help. He is currently on a trip, so I really hope I can conquer this on my own.
