I have found a church that I consider my family. They are loving in a come as you are way. Thats why we kept going back. There are several Nationwide. It’s contemporary worship and message. You can dress up if thats your thing, or wear your favorite Jeans. We have everything from school teachers, a lot of new mothers, heavily tattooed members, and teens that look punk, but who’s hearts are on fire for God.

    January 1, 2006 -- I joined my church 3 years ago

I’m African American so when you a join a church that is primarily a black congregation such as a Baptist or Methodist church, you are invited by the minister after his sermon to walk down the aisles of the church to the pulpit to join the church. I was PETRIFIED to do this for half of my life. I wanted to join when I was 11, but I was so scared to do it. It took me 22 years to walk down that aisle and publicly declare my love for the Lord. I always have been spiritual, but I have never done anything like this. I feel blessed. I had to get baptized for the second time in my life because the baptist church does not recognize infant baptisms (I was baptized at 3 months in the Methodist church), I also had to take 4 membership classes which I completed. I received the right hand fellowship of God on February 19, 2006. I feel blessed that I accomplished my life long goal.

Come to my church in Cape Town :)

    Still searching... 4 years ago

I was brought up in church but what my father believes in and the way I believe are closely related but different and going to a Baptist church hasn’t been what I feel I need, however I do miss the fellowship of like-minded people.
