    this is really hard. i feel that if i don’t give someone what they want, they will leave me. although I know that being compliant is pushing them away. but i still feel that if I am independent, I will be telling them that I don’t need them; and they will leave.

    How can I get over this irrational fear (that I didn’t always have)?
