stop being too nice

This is a toughy for me, cuz I’ve gotten to a point where I like myself and I realize my “sweetness, politeness” is much different than most people. I like who I am and wish the world would react to it as I do. However, they don’t. instead my niceness gets treated like lack of confidence or like a doormat. Now that I’ve reached age 30 – I’m pretty fed up with that whole routine.

I’m tired of saying yes to people. At first I use to feel like helping people will benefit me in the long run. But people just take advantage of you and they don’t realize it. They just know you will always be there for them no matter what. Well now i’m sick of it and I’m going to start thinking about myself and stop putting my stuff off for other people.

i think i’m being too nice because people are taking advantage of my nice-ness. so i’ll be less nice but not bitchy. that’s a whole different thing.

besides, i’d hate to be known as a person who says “yes” all the time just to be liked.
