Ok, so feedback on the piece was not glowing. In fact, most people thought I needed to seriously re-write the opening section, about 1/5 of the total piece.

Ok, so I’m going to try again. I have a finished piece I really like, and I’m going to submit it when I get comments back from the writer’s group.
I’m thinking Gettysburg Review, Narrative, and Tin House for starters. (and maybe Glimmertrain)

I submitted “365 Miles” today to NarrativeMagazine. I’ll find out if it makes the grade on August 31st.

Ok, I know getting it published is a longer putt, but I’ve got the piece into final draft (it’s four pages) and I’m still fiddling with the ending.
I only have a few more days, tho. The contest ends 7/31

I picked a piece, called 365 days, and have begun crafting it for submittal to Narrative Magazine. They are having a first person contest, and the $20 reader’s fee seems like a cheap motivator to get this piece finished. It’s only two pages, after all.

i’ve been dancing around this goal for a while. Well, there it is, for everyone to see.
I want to get a piece published, and I’d like to do it before the end of the year.
We’ll just have to see. I suppose this means I’ll need to submit something for publication. Oh, and I guess that means I’ll need to actually finish something first.
