I used to get up at any time I wanted to. Now I can’t get up beofore 8, usually it’s 9.30 or even later… And I have so many things to do during the day. I had even tried going to bed earlier but it didn’t work. Should do something about it..

My alarm goes off – I click snooze. A few moments later it yells again, I turn it off. It’s all the way across the room, but that doesn’t help. 10 more minutes in bed, 5 more minutes in bed I can never drag myself out. Finally when I know I am going to be late for work if I don’t get up RIGHT NOW, I get up, rush through a shower, breakfast, and getting dressed. Getting up late stresses me out and causes me to be less productive. That is why I need to work on getting up earlier. Besides going to bed earlier, does anyone have any advice?

I started this goal at the begining of the year. I was able to get up earlier for about two weeks. Then I reverted back to my old ways. I had a hard time filling all the free time I had in the morning. But just an extra 20 minutes would let me do more with my hair, pack a better lunch, eat a better breakfast, and make sure my clothes and dishes are all put away. So I started again today. I need to keep this goal up for at least six weeks before I can cross it off my list. Then hopdfully it will be a habit. So from this day forward I want to get up by 8:10 each day.

Other than for work this hasn’t gone too well… with the heat this week keeping me up at night it has been a challenge to get up before 12… most days I manage it but to my great displeasure I woke up today at a dismal 12.30 :(
I’m fully into summer now, relaxed after those exams and ready to give this goal a real run for it’s money. Look out, morning, here I come!!

On days that I don’t work, this is especially difficult.

I was doing this for a while but I keep hitting snooze more and more. The earlier I get up the more I can accomplish and I feel that the day gets off to a better start when I’m not rushing to do everything. Getting up earlier means getting to bed earlier. I guess that means no more 12:45am entries? When I really think about it, after dinner we pretty much just relax and watch tv. The real killer is after relaxing I have to drive home to my parents and then I sit up there for at least 45 minutes. (This goes back to the finding a home goal!) I love how everything is associated now I just have to get my ass associated with my goals.

When I say earlier I mean getting up before 12.00
This is a challenge because I’m a very lazy person. Although, I say lazy… Even when I stay in bed past 12 I tend only to get my 8 hours sleep.
I think I’m going to add to this goal and suggest that I go to bed earlier too. Become more of a day person. :)

My reasoning behind this is simple. I spend a stupid amount of summer hours in bed. Hours that I’m going to need to complete this list. So I’m getting up earlier that 11.00 every morning except one. (Per week). Should make the day longer. Plus, Gearoid seemed to think this was a good one last year…

... some reasons to get up earlier for a certain period of time. Which I had for the last few weeks! Getting up early for work isn’t always motivating but while Emilia was here, I had good reasons to wake up early since when I had my days off work, we were often traveling across the province. So we were waking up kind of early. Now I think I have the pace, I’m starting to feel sleepy around 10 in the evening and I’m already ready to wake up around 9 everyday. I don’t know if it will last, I’m not sure if I really want to because sleeping in when I have the day off work is really nice. But even when it happens, I know it’s not as bad as before. I used to wake up around 2 and even 3 in the afternoon sometimes, now I can hardly sleep until noon and I don’t think I have to feel guilty for that.
