First, I absolutely MUST finish my web site, which is currently visible in a very incomplete state at www.attorneycharlesthomas.com.

Second, I have to get on some court appointment lists to fill out my caseload. Thinking about getting on the CJA panel to get Federal cases.

Third, I have to expand my face-to-face network. Network equals referrals.

And it’s a good thing!

I turned some of those leads into paid clients. And I have more to contact.

A whole bunch of cases — real, paying clients — fell in my lap.

Funny sense of humor this universe has.

But it was still important to explore my options. I am a lawyer, not a marketer, and I don’t know much about those sorts of things.

Just got a serious lead on a source of new business!

Took the single biggest, most important step to develop my practice- I sent letters to judges asking for court appointments. I KNOW I can do this- a Federal judge recently called a brief I ghostwrote for someone “the single best” he’d ever read on the technicalities of sentencing (and I saved the guy 31 months of his life). Federal judges do not gush lightly, but gush this judge did.

So when I say that I know I can do this, I mean it.

I have decided that this is what I want. And when I decide to do something, it gets done.

I finally “decided” that this is what I want. That means no stopping, no foot dragging, no hemming or hawing.

I registered attorneycharlesthomas.com yesterday. Just a basic placeholder page right now, soon more to follow.

I’m a good lawyer. Damn good if I say so myself. I know the law. Time to start doing it for myself and make the living that a talented professional can.
