...but fun weekend. My parents came down on Friday, and despite some of the worst weather we’ve had in months, we still managed to have a pretty good time. It wasn’t full of outdoor activities like I’d hoped, but we did go to the aquarium, which Greg and I have been wanting to do for a while. We also had Greg’s parents over Saturday night since my parents never see them, and I think everyone had a really good time.

I always get such a kick out of my parents when they visit, because they’re so fascinated with the city. They live on a dead-end dirt road in the middle of nowhere, so it’s pretty easy to entertain them. They’re constantly looking out the window and reporting everything – “Oh, now the old lady is taking her dog out…Now that guy is bringing his groceries in the house…Oh! There goes someone into the bakery!” And when I drive them around they love nothing more than to call out some landmark that they recognize.

Now I’m trying to decide how often I need to have them come visit in order to consider this goal “accomplished.”

Are coming next weekend! I’m working on an itinerary for their stay, which will include a trip to Terrain, a double-decker bus ride, the farmers market, burgers, and delicious hot chocolate.

My parents came this weekend and we had a lovely time! I was a little nervous at first considering my dad is sort of tough to entertain, but they seemed to really enjoy themselves and that means next time will be even easier.

My mom is finally retiring this month and I really want her and my dad to come visit more often so I can show them around, take them to dinner and make them see that going places isn’t so inconvenient after all.
