I was born in a city. When I was 8, my family moved to another bigger city, the capital of the country. Now it has been 9 years I’m living here.
Only now I realized the beauty of nature. I’m sick of the smokes, annoying noises, dirty environment, and stressful lifestyle surrounding me. It just doesn’t fit me. I want to get outta here asap.
zhahira is spending the day with my family!
I grew up in Eastern Texas, which is suprisingly the location of a major timber industry. My town was nothing but a gigantic forest with streets and houses sprinkled throughout. (The same thing goes for the entire East Texas region!) It was really a beautiful place to grow up. I realize that more and more now, because everywhere I go feels somewhat “sparse” in comparison to the lush forest back home.
Guess who’s going to the nursery to “adopt” more trees tomorrow? Me! Me! Me!
Following my diabolical plan to turn my yard into a forest to tide me over until I can purchase a sweet piece of woodland real estate, my awesome and like-minded husband is coming with me to Spring Hill Nursery to look at and hopefully aquire- more birch trees. ::Yay!:: I should like to have some sort of Japanese ornamental maple but I’m running out of places for larger trees. This is sort of a good thing but… I’m addicted to trees. I love them. I want more. They’re so beautiful.
Then the elf makes their yard into a forest.
My yard, way back when, had all of four trees. Being extremely arboreal in nature, I collect trees. I am slowly turning my yard into a forest. I believe we have 20 trees now and there are going to be at least two more birch trees planted come spring.
This does not mean to say that I am still not holding out for a forested piece of real estate but it is better than what I’d call “just make do”.
I live in a forest in Gloucestershire in the UK. Its simply the best. I could never live in a town or city. The air where I live is fresh (obviously) and is protected. The nature is amazing and it is is one of the most beautifulest places in England! (The picture is taken near where I live)
The husband and I have agreed that if his grandfather decides to sell any of his woodlands, we shall buy some. If his father inherits any of those woodlands, we shall inquire about buying some from him. It’s not exactly the area of the country I would like to live in but it would be private and might even score us a natural spring.
I am going bonkers here in town. It used to be a nice, quiet town of mostly 40yr+ people but now the young, white-trash have moved in and they make noise at all hours of the day when you used to be able to enjoy the tranquility of the birds and the winds. They are rude and let their children mess up anything they want. They ride ATVs anywhere they like, at any time, day or night. Loudly. I want to live somewhere peaceful; somewhere I can put up a “No Trespassing/No Hunting” sign. I want my peace and quiet back.
One of my aunts used to have a house that was in about 5 acres of woodlands. I always envied her the tranquility, the sound of the rain dripping through the leaves, the privacy.
I’ve always been very arboreal and private. I love trees. I think it would be lovely to have a nice house in the middle of a forest, away from the main roads and the noise and the droves of people. I would love to wake up in the morning and smell the green life in the air. I think I would enjoy it entirely.
