well, i learned to doubledutch in 1 week (using my recess time) and it is sooo easy!
well, the turners should move there arms inward, like each arm is forming a circle. when one arm (with rope) is in the air, ur other arm should be going downwards. Make sure that u have good turners, or else u will suck at doubledutching. sometimes when the jumper jumps in, the turners speed up on accident to try to perfect their roping, but make sure they know not to do this. Also, the ropes need to touch the ground, so they create that “kck, ckc, kck…” sound. Once they have mastered roping (turning the ropes), move on.
THe jumper should be next to the turner when jumping in. if u are right handed, jump in from the left of one of the turners, it will be easier. When the rope closest to you (well if you were on the left of turner, the right rope) is in the air, run into the ropes fast. that rope will come down to your left and you need to jump over it FAST! remember: just keep the beat of the ropes in your head. kck, ckc, kck…) the next rope will come down on your right. jump over that. repeat. These are called POPUPS!
it helps to see the turners arm and look at the ropes to see when they’re coming to your feet.
IF YOU WANT TO JUMP SIDE-FOOTED:
only do this if you can jump in and jump 2-footed. when the rope coming down on your left, is to you foot, just jump over it leaving one foot on da ground and the other in the air. when you see that the next rope on your right is coming down, jump to the other foot in the air. MAKE SURE YOU CAN JUMP ON 1 FOOT to do this
pushups are relatively easy. kinda crouch as you DO POPUPS. the turners must get lower than usual, so that the ropes have loose slack and go slower to pushup over. count to three (one, two, three) and get down and crouch with ur legs to your face (like your doing a tuck). just jump ONE TIME, and spread out more by more, making sure not to push ur hips too low.
