open a community cultural center

I have a group of seven students this spring and we had a beautiful little recital. Now I’m seriously considering putting it out there for junior high and high school violinists who want private lessons.

I’m working on my cover letter for the choir director job.
Also, I need to tweak the goals on my resume to reflect my
capacity to do this job.

I just read an ad for a director for a local city chorus. I know the people who run this group and as I read the job posting, I had two opposite feelings. One was, I really would love this job. The second was, what if they don’t want me or don’t choose me. Kind of a dreadful feeling.

I met an older man today at my new school. He told me that he volunteers at the school every morning! Wow. How beautiful and he was so beautiful.

Right there! Community, intergenerational, giving, caring. Thank you! to all beautiful people.

My student told me that she really likes working with me and writing and drawing. She included me in her poem today.

I’m writing this because it reminds me how people and communities thrive on the arts and writing as an art too.

He calls it a Soca dance exercise class but I think it was more like tiebo. It was jabs, uppercuts and kicks. Well, the reason I’m putting it in my community cultural center is becuz this man has his own studio and I love that he has these classes that are very popular.

There is an exercise studio in the community I’d like to focus on. It looks great…I am intending to go to a dance exercise class there and check out the teachers. who knows…if it feels right, they could be my partners or I could work out of their space

I was thinking of starting small. I am looking for venues that would love to have me use their space to teach choir, music lessons and orchestra. I’m paging through the phone book looking for existing centers.

a beautiful building inside and out with lots of windows, I want to offer music, art, science, language, dance and writing classes. I want it to be intergenerational and to assist middle and lower income families to financial freedom. I want it to house a local chamber group/symphony perhaps, a community chorus and a youth chorus. I want it to house organizations like V-Day.org and NAACP. I want a performance space to accomodate an audience of about 150. I want it to have a float in our local parades and festivals. I want it to bring people together! I know I can do this…it might take me five to seven years to get it together. What do you think about my idea???
