I read this goal and thought: Wow, I want that too! This is why:
Last month I received a prize that I didn’t really feel comfortable getting, because I felt like I just did what I had to do and enjoyed it, so I didn’t need to win anything for that. That’s why I found it difficult to accept all the praise people gave me and they started to comment I was over-modest or even ungrateful. But I wasn’t being ungrateful, I just want to win something only if I feel I busted my ass over achieving it, on purpose. That’s where the standing ovation comes in: I’d like one, if I feel I did something outstanding to deserve it :)
I got one after my final recital in college. It was absolutely fantastic and I will never, ever forget it.
I’ve gotten standing ovations as an actor.
Obviously it’s more likely to happen if you’re cast as a lead role.
I wish there was more to say, but it’s mostly just how much effort you put into your craft.
I always wanted to become an actor on the disney channel because i love all the shows on it. i would be a good actor because i am funny and i think i can act. i never tried acting but i no thats what i want to do. so if u have any audtions please call me thanks!
yakuza who has missed me?
I was the MC of a cultural show during college. It wasn’t a ton of people, but I did get a standing O at the end of it.
My friends and I were in the talent show my 10th grade year of highschool. We decided to sing Beethoven’s ‘Joyful Joyful’ acapella. Being a shy girl who wasn’t in the ‘in crowd’ at our small school, I was pretty nervous—especially because we were up against ‘popular kids’ who were playing loud rock and roll most teen agers prefer, and also because I had a solo in the very beginning of the song. To our surprise, when we finished, the audience rose to its feet and filled the room with whistles and applause. We won first place in our school talent show that year. It’s a special memory I’ll never forget:)
I don’t need to “get” a standing ovation, but to induce a standing ovation, not as an accolade to me as a person, but as appreciation for taking an audience for a thrilling ride that requires the release of energy that a standing ovation allows an audience to have.
