In Newsweek, of all places, a few years back. Of course, my letter was heavily edited (from passive to active voice). But it helped that I knew what I was talking about, enough to know that the article I was responding to had not been well researched (or, in the writer’s defense, not well edited).
Silly Drowa daring to fully love
thought of a million better ways to write what I wrote, & express myself more fully…
my ‘letter to the editor’ was published in the new york press, a free alternative weekly (the alternative to the village voice, lol)... it was directed toward someone featured in an article. the following week that person wrote an angry response to me, personally (and it was printed). the following week, my response was printed. at that point NYP handed off the guy’s email address and we began an extended war that lasted months. eventually we went to lunch and were really nice to each other.
And lots of letters printed in the Seattle Times.
The trick is being really angry but not sounding angry.
