I just found out that the agency that used to pay for me to go to camp once a year can not do this anymore because of a lack of funds. Since I am on SSI it would take a whole month’s check to pay for aviation challenge and I am kind of fond of things like food and electricity so I can’t use a full check for this. Maybe I should move this to the “give up” file but I can’t bring myself to call it yet.
How to go to space camp
How I did it: It was a school trip all the way from Ireland to Huntsville, Alabama. My first (and so far only trip) to the US. :(
I'd never been so excited in my life. Its definitely worth it. How often do u get to dress up as an astronaut?

I have wanted to do this since I was a kid!!!

I wish I had done this as a kid. Now I’d like to take my niece, who has real talent as a scientist. Are there programs for adults and kids to do together?
It was just something I HAD to do. lol.
Go there, it’s just so so awsome.

I had an awesome time. I still have the suit I bought there seventeen years ago – I wear it every Halloween.
I went when I was in junior high – it was neat, but not what I was expecting.
I had the best time ever. Space Camp is just completely awesome, too much for words to say here. I’ve been 3 times & each time was awesome-it completely changed my life. I still talk to many of my teammates, who, like Allison said earlier, live thousands of miles away.
For anyone who is interested, there is a website:
http://www.hab1.com
(and a HabForum where space-campers-to-be and space-camp grads chat about it)
If I ever have a summer off I would love to apply to be a camp counselor there!
I just really didn’t like it: i blew up the mock space shuttle and realized I had no talent for mechanics, plus my councelor was constantly hungover. Hope you guys have fun, though!
i went not once. not twice but three times. in alabama.. best week of my life. it sounds SO nerdy. but seriously, its so cool.. i met lots of awesome people and i’m still good friends with a couple, dispite them living a 1000 miles away. i got so much flack for it though. i skipped a vacation in 9th grade with my family to go. hah.
