See the Gävle Goat

Were going to England for Christmas this year, so I don’t think we’ll get to see it this Christmas. It’ll then have to be held off for yet another year. It’s a straw goat! It shouldn’t be this hard to see it! :)

Erik’s dad wouldn’t let us drive there, as he thought it was too far just to see a straw goat. But we want to see the city too, oh well. And yesterday it was burnt down. Perhaps we can make a stop in next winter.

If he lasts this year, we might get to see him, but I’ve just read that they’re not putting the flame retardant stuff on him this year, or making a back-up goat, should he be burnt: http://www.thelocal.se/15526/20081107/

It’s not that many hours from where I live, so this one should be possible to do whenever there’s time for it. Maybe a trip to Stockholm would be included too :)

Well, it’s a huge Christmas decoration, built every year from straw, in the Swedish city of Gävle. It is famous for people trying to destroy it, but I like it, and I want to see it before any such attempts are made. And this year, I might have a chance, as I’ll be living in Sweden.
