Went to Bento this weekend, simultaneously knocking out my other goal of showing up at a bus station and buying a ticket with no prepared plan or agenda. Unfortunately the 6 hours I spent on the bus was kinda the highlight. Next time I go there I think I’ll book a mountain B&B and make it harvest season. :)

On to excursion 2…

I really hate my birthday. I always feel really down and so I don’t like to make plans with friends… because I just feel like retreating.
My b-day is a Saturday this year. Think I’ll look into a nice B&B in Bento Goncalves (do a winery tour) or Gramado (eat fondue) and disappear for the weekend.

Ha. I was thinking about Bento Goncalves this month, but I just booked a ticket to Rio on Friday. Long weekend to visit some acquaintances, and my team is playing in Maracana on Saturday, so it’s good timing!

I like that I just did that… that was pretty fly-by-pantseat of me.

Insert goal: go to the airport (or bus terminal) and buy a ticket to wherever.

I would like to go to Bento Goncalves. It’s a small town in the mountains/wine-region a couple hours from here. I think I’ll shoot for the second week in May and try something new: hop a bus with my backpack and find a cheap place to stay for one night once I arrive. Walk around, get a feel, and if I need more time I can go back once I find a way to start making some money!
