make stained glass windows

How I did it: I took a real beginner's class that involved learning how to cut and foil.  I then worked and played and continued to do what I could to improve.  I made several windows of my own design that are hanging in my family's houses (sadly for me I did most all of my work as gifts).  My husband challenged me to make a light for the front door of the house (he *hated* the one that was there when we moved in) and so I took another class on how to do leaded glass (building codes and durability and all that...).  It was a *ton* of work, but the end result is worth every bit of my effort!

Lessons & tips: Keep a good supply of Bandaids handy.  As my very first instructor told the class, "Glass cuts you, you only try to convince it to break the way you want it to!".  He was *so* right!

Resources: There is a Stained Glass Expo in Las Vegas once a year that I have been to twice. It was a bit overwhelming my first time, but well worth the trip.
