Concrete rules huh.

I went almost my whole 8-day vacation without going online. (I went on for a few minutes to catch up with something for work) But since I’ve gotten home, I have nothing to do! I need to find something to take up my time because I’ve checked my email at least 10 times today! Help!
does this site count??
any ways gonna try to not use the internet or the computer like mad…
except for educational purposes…sigh
gonna start today and hopefully i can start changing my habits
oh man. it’s the messageboards that get me. immediate feedback is addictive. dammit.
I used to use 43things all the time and this is an attempt to get back to it. It certainly helped me cure other serious vices once upon a time.
maybe making a specific window of time during the day when I go on the messageboards is the way to go. I get sucked in. that’s probably even danger.
addicted to: board.crewcial.org, williamsboard.com
I will update my progress at staying away from them here. They seriously consumed hours upon hours of my time this week.
I reached my goal of not checking a certain myspace page for ONE WEEK. So now that I’ve check it, we are officially starting week 2 tomorrow (since it’s almost 12am). :)
to not compulsively check myspace since Thursday night :) and my goal is to make it until Friday without checking it at all! :) I think I gradually want to get down to maybe half an hour on the net a day. Last night instead of ‘surfing the web’ (haha) I read a book instead! :)
maybe only check my email/fav. websites once a day, rather then a million times a day? For me, I feel like it’s a waste of time, because I’m always reading/checking the same stuff over and over throughout the day to see if anything is new. More often then not, nothing is new :) so I think it’s time to kick my habit and take up some more reading (or activities/hobbies)!!!
I just had a REALLY BAD experience on the internet, more specifically craigslist.com—basically it was a fight, and some people actually stalked me a little. But that’s got me thinking… if I wasn’t on the internet so much, I wouldn’t have had any problems. So I’m going to search any screennames I remember on Google and Yahoo (I think they’ll find any and everything) and start deleting, I need to get off the internet. This site, email, and Livejournal, are really the only habits I want.
myspace, protopage, gmail, allconsuming, librarything, amazon, lifehacker…just the tip of the iceberg. How will it end?
