I have been learning german now for about seven years mostly on my own. Seems pretty crazy, but being a loner kind of guy I have a lot of time on my hands… So to be constructive about that time I started learning the language and I have to say it was a true love affair haha!!!! I downlaoded songs, read kid’s books, watched movies all in german. And believe it or not, after a while I could somewhat communicate!!!
I had a dream of travelling to Germany and last summer my dream came true!!! I spent two months in Germany, mostly in Berlin, making friends and having fun! And you know what I realized…. I really need to improve my german!! Man!! It went ok, but the first month was all about getting used to the language constantly being present… The last month was more comfortable, but still.. not an easy language. Since I would love to go back there and meet up again with the dear friends I made during my trip, I would love to perfect this beautiful language that is german!!!
