My mother taught me how to crochet but she never used a pattern and she never knew how to crochet squares. Before I moved to Cali I took a night class on how to crochet. Now I can crochet a round bag, I know how to do squares and there are various beautiful lacy stitches I can do. I keep saying “can do” but I took the class 2 years ago and have probably forgotten all the good stuff I was taught! Joey wants me to make him a crocheted tie but I’d rather do something for myself first to give me confidence. This will be a good test as well as giving me something to boast about for the summer. I am so much better at knitting…
Yeah I picked out the pattern and everything…I am just putting it off because I’m afraid of fucking it up. WHY can I take martial arts, climb rocks and get tattoos but I’m afraid of crocheting a sweater!?

...Unseamly, from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller. Of course, since I live in Atlanta, I won’t be using a sweater any time soon. But I want to have it done for next fall! In dark red, definitely!
It’s made out of 4 skeins of Lion Brand Microspun yarn from a pattern on their website. Probably took me less than a week to finish!
