This was so cool! 14 months ago

We left the house at 8 in the morning to get to the Park by ten. The public transport connection was perfect and at ten, we were walking up the straight walk up to the entrance, which in all its splendour and with the regal music out of hidden speakers felt like we were going to Duloc, the Perfect Place. I was wondering who is Shrek and who is Donkey.
Inside, we headed for the diorama ride Fata Morgana, which welcomed us with a 20 minute queue. From there, we never had to wait for too long to get on a ride, except the Flying Dutchman, which took us 40 minutes to get on. But even that wait was worth the thrill of this short but very cool ride. I screamed my lunges out on the rollercoasters “Python”, “Bird Roc” and “Pegasus”. We had burgers and fries and ice cream and took the toddler mono rail as well as the sky pagoda which lifted us about 45 metres above the park. We went on a wild water rafting ride as well as the famous “Half Moon”, the biggest swinging ship in the world.
I can only highly recommend this park. The two of us had the most amazing time. It felt like being a kid again. We strolled through the fairytale forest and saw the automatic donkey poo gold pieces. Frau Holle was shaking her bed and made it snow. When the park closed at 6pm, we were all parked out and our feet hurt really bad, but we were happy as Larry. Efteling is so much fun!

The Efteling... 14 months ago

... probably is the Netherlands’ most loved attraction park. Its origins date back to the 30’s but the Fairytale Forest was started in the 50’s and the park has been expanded ever since. It’s based on Fairytales, international and local ones, Hans Christian Andersen and Brothers Grimm, but also new invented ones. The focus is not on rollercoaster rides like 6Flags, but on the family experience of enchanted forests, magical exotic places and strange creatures big and small.
I’ve lived in Holland for nearly twelve years and have seen many people go there and say they ahd a fun day. So this is something to do to dot the “i” of my stay in the Netherlands.
