Why Not Help Others? — 4 months ago
I love everything about photography.
I love the way composing a great photograph feels as I get the framing just right. I love well-saturated reds, blues, greens and yellows. When I worked in a darkroom I loved the scent of developer and fixer. I love the way seeking out photographs makes me feel.
And that is the whole problem: So much of photography is inward looking – it is about what it does for me.
There must be some way to bring value to others with what I consider to be my life’s art.
Maybe we should:- Give away our photographs
- Find people who need art in their lives and share
- Practice random acts of photography
- Think globally but photograph locally
You get the idea. How do I make this art that I love something that provides value to others (not including soothing my ego)? How do I make it about others and not about me?
Thoughts? Suggestion?
