not afraid of Dad coming over! 5 months ago

Last time my Dad came over, he totally made fun of me for not keeping my bathroom clean and actually SCRUBBED MY SINK for me. This is what sparked my desire to clean my bathroom once a week. He came over again on Sunday, and all I did was bust out a Clorox wipe and wipe down surfaces, and other than that the bathroom was looking rather presentable. Of course, he didn’t actually see the bathroom that time… but still, I wasn’t nervous! Almost ready to cross this off the list, my goal that will let me know I’ve accomplished this is if my Dad does come over and give me the stamp of approval.

I also need to scrub out the tub hardcore, but the weekly maintenance is coming along pretty well.

it's all about maintenance 7 months ago

Dude so yesterday I did my 2nd round of “maintenance cleaning” in the bathroom. It only took like 20 minutes and this was including everything including the shower and toilet. I’ve also been keeping up with basic cleaning of the counters, etc. I love it. No gross hair on the ground and crud in the sink.

the massive clean 8 months ago

Happened yesterday. I buckled down and cleaned hardcore the toilet, floors, countertops, and sink. There was probably enough hair to make a Cousin It encrusted on all of these surfaces… gross! I kept the shower for another day, maybe tomorrow. Once everything gets done it will be a matter of weekly maintenance and monthly deep clean. Loved everyone else’s tips, they were super helpful!

    Fancyness feels disorganized

fresh and clean 2 years ago

I’ve learned that cleaning will only be done regularly if a.you are a clean freak or b.it is made easy. I bought the disposable toilet thingies and have them at the ready along with easy clorox wipes and supplies like scrubbing bubbles. A bit more expensive, perhaps but having easy things right there makes me clean a lot more often. When I had two bathrooms I had sets in each as well. Now the bathroom gets cleaned at least once a week and if I see a gross toilet starting to form I can clean it up right then in less than 5 minutes.

    never together 3 years ago

I’ve decided never to attempt the toilet/sink job with the bathtub/tile job. It makes the whole experience seem too arduous and makes me end up not cleaning anything. Lately I’ve been just wiping down surfaces and sweeping, leaving the heavy stuff for once a month. It reinforces my belief that cleaning is generally mostly psychological.

    partial 3 years ago

I swept the floor, vacuumed the rug, cleaned the toilet, and am currently airing out the medicine cabinet and am going to clean the sink next. The thing I love about cleaning is you start out to do one thing (for me, the floor) and end up getting on a roll. The only reason I don’t plan to do the bathtub today is because I might mop the kitchen tomorrow…..

i am getting better at this, except that i have been focussing on my shower, and neglecting, for instance, the sink. i need to be broader in my cleaning efforts here.

    my step-mother 4 years ago

my step-mum always says that no matter what kind of dump you live in, if the bathroom is tidy and clean it makes the whole place feel that much more lovely.

    she’s totally right.

sad part is, i haven’t really cleaned my bathroom in about a month. grrr. best get on that.

    it’s so embarrassing.
