buy new glasses

So I FINALLY walked into the store with the intent of getting the whole thing done today… and it didn’t end up working that way. First of all, I LOVE my current glasses and I would have been very content to walk away with the exact same pair. However I’ve noticed that my frames are being eaten away by my sweat and it irritates my skin sometimes.

So I walk into the store and the woman tries to direct me to the Versace glasses. No no no no… show me the house brand, where I couldn’t find anything I liked. She kept bringing me glasses that were vaguely similar at 200$ the set of frames. Then I wandered around the store and found the 40% section, much more my style. I tried on a whole bunch of framed that looked like mine to varying degrees and a couple that were completely NOT me when I saw them. They were perfect and I had to have them. The price was right and they were a very similar pair.

So I bought the actual frames, have the apt to do the eye exam on Monday after work and hopefully they’ll have my lenses in stock and I’ll have my glasses later that night or Tuesday. Either way… you guys know how long I’ve been putting this off, the original entry for this goal was written on Oct 31, 2008, so waiting a few more days won’t kill me.

Gonna check this off as done tonight, because it’s pretty much in the bag from here.

Been putting this goal to the side for a while now. I don’t understand why I don’t do something that affects my vision, but I still find money to take care of my house.

Eye exam is 50$, let’s put a deadline for the end of the year, so I don’t have to re-pay my deductable when I claim it on my insurance.

Let call the insurance next week and confirm that the exam is covered.

Found out that my eye exam is covered by my insurance. Not the actual glasses themselves, but at least it’s something.

Been doing some poking around at http://www.goggles4u.com and other related sites to see if it would just be cheaper to buy them online.

The thing is that I want scotchgard lenses and to keep the same frames that I have now. Lenscrafters quoted me 325$ I believe and New Look quoted me 200$ just for the lenses.

I know I could just get cheap lenses again, but I’d like to treat myself to a pair of lenses that I don’t have to wash every couple of hours.

contray to the date I posted this, it actually took maybe six mounths to buy a new pair.

My other glasses snapped in the center so I was going to school with looking like steve earkle or however you spell his name, although many thought it was cool, so it made the wait a lot more tollerable.

My glasses came in just yesterday, so I am majorly happy ^__!

I’ve got old ugly things. I wear contacts all the time, but it would be nice to have glasses in the right prescription when my eyes are bothering me.

And not looking like the un-sexy kind of a librarian would be a plus.

I had my eye appt last Wednesday and picked out the ones I want. My good friend just got his optometry license so I will get the frames and lenses at cost. Go me.

I love my new frames! I just picked some up the other week, and they were really expensive, but well worth the cost. They’re burgundy/brownish with these cute rhinestones on the sides and they look professional, but fun! I got really lucky and received my glasses within 6 days from ordering them :D Originally I was told that I’d have to wait 3 weeks, so I am definitely going to keep giving my business to this particular place!
