I’ve only gone and been struck down with sciatica, innit! Makes running difficult! Feeling better today (or is that just a painkiller induced haze?) so hopefully it will pass soon. Limps are so not this season’s hottest accessory.

Of course, things are slightly complicated by the recent kidney debacle, which the doc is worried might have something to do with it. “Mezurashii keredo…moshikashite…” / “It’s very rare, of course, but…unless I’m very much mistaken…”

If it hasn’t started to abate by Tuesday he is threatening to “take a sample of your spine” (???) and test it for bacteria.

In an effort to avoid that, I am zealously alternating heat and cold packs, drinking litres of water (dehydration is bad for your tissues, people) and walking 30 mins in the morning instead of the jog.

the blood tests are back 13 months ago

and I am totally and officially healed!!!
I don’t think I can remember what it feels like to jog without a stupidly irksome “need to wee but nothing is actually going to dribble out even if I stop and hide behind this bush” sensation throughout my urinary regions!
Tomorrow morning, 6 am, I shall find out!

HEALTH IS MINE!!!!! MWAHHHHAHAHAHAHAHA!

this also means I’ll be allowed to drink home made pimms at the eurovision spectacular this weekend! Bucks fizz all round!

this goal has been shot to shit by the kidney infection. I’ll go for a really easy jog tomorrow morning and build up from there. Meh.

thought I’d get the month off to a good start!
Did run 13, walk 1, run 13, walk 1, run 2..a grand total of 28.
Can’t believe I got up at 5.20 to go running ON A BANK HOLIDAY!

Finally! 14 months ago

went this morning, mostly under duress from yg!:) Hadn’t really done much any sport all winter I don’t think we can count sandwich eating or scrubbing my back in the onsen s I decided to go for five minutes and see how bad that was. If it was awful, I’d just do run 5 walk 1 times 5. But it turned out quite all right and I did run 9 walk 1 times 3. Might even venture to say I enjoyed it, what with the riverside bursting into green and the faint smell of rain from last night.
Of course, I needed a wee the entire time (thanks, urinary tract) but managed to prevent a Paula Radcliffe from taking place, just.
Also discovered that Beastie Boys are a jogger’s best friend. No time to think about that stitch when you’re concentrating on guessing what they could possible rhyme with table (dradle! Of course! Brilliant!). Much more entertaining than podcasts, which I hadn’t synched lately.

I figure this goal will force me to go 30 minutes more days than not, with ten days leeway for unexpected sloth.
