{Turandot} bought a lapis lazuli owl to keep her company on the desk
that life is this great ball
(think the ball at Netherfield Park in Pride and prejudice, and you immediately enter in my mental picture)
there’s some enthusiasts who enjoy the dancing (Lizzy Bennett)
there’s someone so grumpy to complain all the time (uh-la-la, here you come, Mr. Darcy!)
there’s some bore who morally despise it (Mary)
there’s even indeed those who enjoy it too much (the silly sisters)
in the great ball of life
there’s who sprains his ankles at the first turn of the room, and all the fun is gone before even starting enjoying life
there’s who watches from outside and broods too long over who he shall invite to dance and then life is over and he never made up his mind
there’s who dances every dance with light heart and merry feet: the music carries her in its twirl and no effort is needed, she doesn’t resist to the charm of life
I’m tired of playing the MrDarcy, enough of that!
