I think this is key to understanding God’s word. The Bible is way to complex and connected to itself to only study one book at a time.
I mean think about Jesus Christ. Ya know, THAT whole part of the Bible. His coming and ministry and death and resurrection was not just magic act that fixed a few problems with ‘church’. It was a massive invasion of the plan of the Almighty One! The entire old covenant had been fulfilled and done away with! Creation changed. People after Christ are not the same kind of people before Christ. We are a new breed entirely! Besides from the significance Christ hold in our salvation, He hold ridiculous significance in light of what life USED to be like! How dare I claim to understand what Jesus Christ was all about before I understand all that he changed!

So heres what I want to do. I want to be reading at least 3, probably 4, books at a time. I want to be reading a book from the Pentateuch(the first 5 books of the Bible. Every Jew had these memorized entirely by the age of 12), a book of the prophets(major or minor; doesn’t matter), a Gospel account, and then another book of the old or new testament (this includes the epistles, Revelation, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, Psalms etc…)
I don’t think I can just sit down for one chunk of time and read a certain amount of chapters from each of these ‘categories’. Rather, I think it would be better to read a certain amount of chapters at different times in the day. Like maybe the miscellaneous old or new test. book in the morning when I wake up. Then durring lunch, read from the Pentateuch. Before dinner read the Gospel accounts. Then at night read from the Prophets.
I dunno. I’ll have to figure out the order of reading based on my level of alertness and difficulty to understand.

This is a pretty crazy goal now that I think about it. But just like the crema of an espresso shot, sometimes you just gotta be a little nutty.
