How to swim/lift weights/yoga/hiking/MOVE
How I did it: I started going swimming off and on, and then saw a brochure for the Aspire swim challenge at the pool - 22 miles in 12 weeks. This is equivalent to 1416 lengths of my pool - works out to about 60+ lengths 2 or 3 times a week. I'm at 900 lengths now, going strong! It's a charity swim, so I'm supposed to be collecting funds for Aspire - they work with spinal injuries- but I'm not very much good at that kind of money so probably I'll just send them a contribution of my own once I've completed the challenge.
Lessons & tips: The usual stuff - find an *external* goal/deadline that you commit to. It's much harder to skip a session when it's not just a matter of disappointing today, but also a long-term goal.
