teaching something is the best way to learn it yourself. when you reside in the role of a student there’s only so much you can learn before you get bored and start losing your edge. it’s just how the brain works – our education system has not yet evolved in accordance with our growing heap of new brain science.

teaching can be the fastest way to take some fresh steps and get unstuck. you learn about words, how to communicate and how to phrase questions, and remind yourself what’s important. and you make some great friends who will admire you for a century. if you’re tutoring or writing, you’re making some money on your own terms. it’s a purely abstract endeavor, you create value with your thoughts and words and movements. when you get a job you’ll have a good opportunity to teach things to the people you work with or do business with. humility is an important part of effective teaching because people often subconsciously decide to not learn from teachers whose attitudes aren’t appropriate. you have to be careful about what you say and how you present yourself in order to make older people feel comfortable with the idea that you knew something they didn’t.

teaching gives you a lot of pride. its what you were designed to do.

Teach People Self Strength 3 years ago

I have a big interest in people finding their true path to self empowerment through examing, understanding and responding to the lies they tell themselves. This extends to how they give up power to other people and how self-victimization limits people in all aspects of their life.

My goal is to develop a series of classes that will build upon each previous one so that people can explore concepts and ideas they may not have been exposed to before.

I’ve been working on text and material off and on for the last couple of years but now I’m pushing myself to kick in into a higher drive. I want to start the classes in the new year so have given myself nine months to finish the prep work.

Anyone else in Toronto interested in teaching these things?
