I have loved to cook all my life but I am just fascinated by chocolate and sugar work. I love to cook french style patisserie, pate sablee, pate choux etc. I love to decorate cakes as well. I am trying to get a place on a patisserie scholarship program in london. If all goes well then I might just be the next big thing! I hope so, I think I have the talent.

I want to learn! 13 months ago

I finished university and started studying massage, but I realize that I’ve wanted to be a pastry chef for years and never actually took myself seriously. Now, I don’t have the money for school and am not willing to go more into debt. I’m thinking I’ll start at the bottom working at a local bakery and work my way up, learning from those who know.

So I’m looking at the Art institute of New York (formerly the NY restaurant school). It’s program is a good one, and it’s the cheapest I’ve seen for a reputable school.
Now I just have to find scholarship programs. I’m an adult, not a kid out of high school, so it is hard to find scholarships for adults.
It’s going to happen though. This has been my dream for years now.

What colleges? 18 months ago

I am 16 and a junior at Timberland High School and I want to become a pastry chef. Graduation is only a year away, and my GPA [currently] is at like, a 2.9. Do you think with the grades I have, anyone will accept me into college? I was thinking about going to Sullivan University but I really want to go to the CIA, and if I can’t get into either one of those, I guess I’ll just stick with the le culiner in St. Louis. The question is, how do I get started? I have no clue how to start applying or anything. If you have past experience or current, please let me know.

i want to be a successful pastry chef like within a year. i can cook simple things and have baked sponge cakes in the past but nothing too skillful. my strengths are my determination, creativity and abundant savings to go to a reputable school plus i live in italy.
i turn 35 in july and would love to make a spectacular birthday cake to mark a decisive moment in my life.
deadline for my goal december 2008
