but i discovered a cosmetology school i want to go to instead. i love baking and makeup so it was a toss up between the two, and cosmetology won. i’ll still continue to bake and do my own thing in my free time, but for now i’m settled on makeup. i haven’t crossed off the idea of baking later on in life though..
anyway just so my post isn’t a completed waste of time, here is some advice i found while i was doing some research on colleges..

I have loved to cook all my life but I am just fascinated by chocolate and sugar work. I love to cook french style patisserie, pate sablee, pate choux etc. I love to decorate cakes as well. I am trying to get a place on a patisserie scholarship program in london. If all goes well then I might just be the next big thing! I hope so, I think I have the talent.

I finished university and started studying massage, but I realize that I’ve wanted to be a pastry chef for years and never actually took myself seriously. Now, I don’t have the money for school and am not willing to go more into debt. I’m thinking I’ll start at the bottom working at a local bakery and work my way up, learning from those who know.

So I’m looking at the Art institute of New York (formerly the NY restaurant school). It’s program is a good one, and it’s the cheapest I’ve seen for a reputable school.
Now I just have to find scholarship programs. I’m an adult, not a kid out of high school, so it is hard to find scholarships for adults.
It’s going to happen though. This has been my dream for years now.

What colleges?
I am 16 and a junior at Timberland High School and I want to become a pastry chef. Graduation is only a year away, and my GPA [currently] is at like, a 2.9. Do you think with the grades I have, anyone will accept me into college? I was thinking about going to Sullivan University but I really want to go to the CIA, and if I can’t get into either one of those, I guess I’ll just stick with the le culiner in St. Louis. The question is, how do I get started? I have no clue how to start applying or anything. If you have past experience or current, please let me know.
