First of all, it’s got only 2 MPixels, so it’s not going to be a supre sharp picture anyway. Wednesday, we skyped with our friends in South Africa, and the picture was much better. We still had natural light in the living room and both moved around in the room a lot, and the picture was actually what I wanted it to be. So apparently, it’s a question of light.

Yesterday, I bought said camera.
I am completely new to using a webcam, but considering that I am 5 traveling hours away from all of my family and will be further away in the future, I think I could convince them that setting up little chat sessions with me would be fun and also cheaper than phoning.
To demonstrate the first step, I sent my family a 30-second-clip with me rooting for the purchase of a webcam and the downloading of Skype. My father’s gloriously negative answer was “That’s not for me. And the quality of your picture is really bad.”
So I figure that if I can figure out how I can de-fuzz myself and get more in focus (regarding the camera), I can make a more engaging clip and convince Dad and the rest of my clan.
So I gotta work on the capture.
The picture is very much out of focus and I’m wondering if that’s got to do with the way it’s set up or with the way the room was lit. I was sitting in my bedroom with only a small reading lamp on, so I think it might be that.
Any suggestion would be appreciated!
