came back from an education abroad experience. They came to my office to give me my token gift (paprika) and told me about their 2 week silent retreat at some famous monestary in France. I was so jealous.

I need to make this goal happen. 3 months ago

FeeLiz10 days of silence

I did a 10-day retreat in the Netherlands a few years ago. It was hard, but not as hard as i thought. I didn’t reach the goals I hoped to reach but it was worth it none the less. Very intense, interesting experience. 3 months ago

I signed up for a 2.5 day silent retreat with the Society of Friends for September. I’m going with the hubbie. I know we are going to have a great time!

This is my practice for when I go for 10 days on the vipassana one when I feel I’m ready. 23 months ago

The retreat is approaching quickly (and the time before the retreat is shorter than the retreat itself now!). In preparation I’m going to (try to) shift my sleep pattern towards the course’s rise at 4am, bedtime at 9:30pm schedule, and to sit in silence longer every day.
Concerning bedtime, I’ve got a few activities already that won’t allow me to go to bed early but I won’t plan more – so I’ll be able to go to bed by 9:30 as much as possible (starting tonight).

And now some words that I feel the need to write down even though it makes me shiver and I’m not at all sure that I’ll stick with them: If I complete this retreat, I pledge to sign up for and sit two more, one in autumn 2011 and one in winter (Dec 27 2011-Jan 7 2012)2 years ago

Got an email today to (re)confirm my attendance to the retreat – which I did promptly, despite some mild fear in the back of my mind…

It feels like there’s hardly any time left before the retreat, days are going to be packed with work (incl 2 days of team building activities), the theatre performance, running, climbing, ... and last but not least: a job interview on the way to the retreat (not the greatest preparation for a retreat I guess. Which one will I be most nervous for: the interview or the retreat?)2 years ago
