My dad is a wood turner/artist and he makes gorgeous pens. I should learn this beautiful craft before it’s too late.

I like little tricks like this  — 1 month ago

I really enjoy being able to do little things like this every now and again. It’s good to be able to pick something up and do something semi-impressive with it at a moment’s notice.

I guess I better get practicing this one. Then perhaps I’ll work some more on walking coins along my fingers. :)

haha once u learn its like… u HAV to do it, whenever you have a pen. its so funny when people just randomely shout ‘OMG! how do you do that?’ its really worth doing and keeps you entertained whenever!

I keep trying to do this in class, but it often ends up with my pen on the floor. I feel like I’m too obvious when I try to learn it, and that my professor will get mad. Is there a type of pen this works best with? I mostly have the cheap ballpoint ones with caps, and that seems to throw the balance off.

i can spin it forward only, on my middle finger, i drop it sometimes still
i had a friend at uni who could spin a pen backwards and forwards, probably 95% of my friends at uni could spin pens,
but then it was electronic engineering, something about ability in electronics, computers, and maths that helps with pen spinning i think,

i’ve learnt to spin a pen between my index and middle finger!! i know its not that impressive but i am very proud of this accomplishment. it took me about a week to learn, and all that time was way better spent than sitting in boring classes learning about absolutely nothing. although non-stop pen spinning during exams might explain my crappy report card.

good luck to all who are learning pen tricks. practice makes perfect! :P

This is a really fun thing to do when you are bored and at school or at work, and can be pretty impressive.

It’s good fun but once you start it’s hard to stop! I’ve had folks tell me before that it looks like I’m not paying attention when I’m sitting there spinning my pencil around my fingers – when in fact I wasn’t even aware that I was spinning it … d’oh …

If spinning a pen taught me anything it is that you can do anything if you practice. I can do just about any trick.
