I bought a bag at Walgreen’s way earlier in the summer…...lost it….don’t know where it is. So I bought a few bags at walmart and actually remembered to use them on Sunday….except that…I guess I bought out the store and my four bags weren’t enough, so I did have to use some plastic. Then….I had to go back today (teenage boys eat a lot) and forgot the darn bags. So I just bought 2 more and somehow I fit ninety dollars worth of stuff in both of them. I just carried the milk, laundry detergent, and beer (ok…so I guess I can’t blame it all on the boys ;0) I was still very proud of myself that I did not use one single plastic bag today!
How to don't use a single plastic bag this summer
How I did it: I realized that it doesn't take all that much effort on one's part just to remember to grab your damn reusable bag before you leave the house... and after reading about the impact of plastic bags, I feel like it actually makes a difference.

So I was at the mall the other day to get my laptop fixed at the Apple store, and I had to amuse myself for 30 minutes while they installed my new CD-Rom drive. I decided to meander over to Urban Outfitters, and wound up purchasing an adorable necklace stand.
“I don’t need a bag,” I told the cashier, since I had my shoulder bag on that I had carried my computer to the mall in.
“It counts as proof of your purchase,” he shot back.
“Isn’t that my receipt?”
After a brief argument, I took the bag. It wasn’t worth it. However, if my bag counts as proof of purchase, can’t I bring the empty bag back, stuff things I haven’t paid for into it, and make the same argument?
Ugh. It’s hard to fight the good fight on minor issues. It really is.
