See redwoods up close and personal

definitely worth the trip to this park! So much fun to climb around, and get a feel for just how ancient these trees are.

part was being able to go inside the huge, hollowed-out trunk of one of the trees. Here Kaiya and I are coming out.

took the time to learn how to retrieve photos from the new high definition video/still camera, and have uploaded a bunch to my photo site, including those from our visit to the redwood park. Yay!

was so awesome! One of the trees had a trunk that was hollow for about 15 ft. at the bottom, so I was able to go in and stand up inside the tree! My son-in-law had a flashlight (he’d been there before) and you could see where someone had carved a window into the side of the tree at one time, but it grew back over. I also got to see a couple of banana slugs – ewwww!

out to CA, I hope. I’ve never seen a redwood with my own eyes and have always wanted to. A friend says there are some at Muir Woods near the Golden Gate Bridge, which should be a doable day trip.
