I saw on Google patents many ideas for inventions ranging from big ideas to very simple ones. Everybody has a new idea registers it in the patent office. I have a good idea which I think it is new. I searched for a similar thing on Google patents website and I didn’t find it. I will register my idea and prototype at my local patent office.
How to patent an invention
How I did it: Invented something unique. Started an Inventor's Notebook. Designed prototype. Tested. Researched on uspto.gov and Google Patents to be sure my invention was unique. Created engineering drawings. Created patent drawings. Hired a patent attorney.
Lessons & tips: Be open-minded and don't give up.
Resources: uspto.gov and Google Patents

I was recently involved in the development of a patent portfolio for a tech startup, and I was shocked and appalled by how broken the US patent system is. I was thinking that it would be fun and exciting to patent an invention of my own, but now that I’ve gone through the process (on someone else’s dime) I really don’t care to try it myself until things improve.
Thyself25 Life is definitely worth meditating about.
So I think I should invent something spectacular! I just don’t know what at the moment I could invent, but I’m sure it will come to me like a thief in the night! :-)
I now have a provisional patent. Am getting closer to starting my own business!
Mua ha ha!
I never did anything worth doing by accident, nor did any of my inventions come by accident… they came by work
Thomas Edison
and it will never make me rich, but at least I can say I did it…
Had this idea in my head for about 4-5 years now… Time to do something about it.
i have been sitting on an idea for over half a year now wondering how to go about it. i finally organised my thoughts the other day and learnt what i needed to do, but when i did some research someone provisionally patented something almost exactly the same 3 weeks ago!!!!!!!. i came up with the dam idea months before this. if u have an idea, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. it turns out u don’t really have to be that specific to get it protected.
screw all these 3rd party patent sites too, a lot of them charge you lots for doing what you can find out for free.
everything you need to know is on http://www.ipo.gov.uk/
Good luck. succeed where i have failed or sit and kick yourself like me.
I can always go back to this goal, but for now I am marking it as a failure.
It just wasn’t as important as I thought was going to be. I have the idea- just neither the inclination, nor the time to do the work necessary to make this happen.
