For this past Christmas, my best friend gave me a journal. Since I do a lot of my journaling online at Livejournal as well as at my website, and since I already have a paper journal which will take me quite some time to fill, I was initially at a loss as to how to use this book journal. Since I was reading quite a bit at the time, it occurred to me that it might be nice to try to fill the journal with entries about the books that I’ve read.
This would help me twofold: first of all, I could remember when I read certain books, and second, I could be reminded of what I thought of the book after reading it at that time.
I’ve decided to dedicate one page to each book that I read, whether I’ve read it before or not. So far, I’ve cataloged all of the books from my 50 Book Challenge as well as all of the books that I read in December, leading up to the start of my challenge. I’d wager that I have about thirty books in there.
I’m not certain how many pages the journal has, so I don’t know how many books it will take to fill it completely, but I know it won’t be totally finished this year, regardless of how many books I’m able to read. I simply couldn’t read that much!
It will be really exciting to see it when it is finished and to be able to see what my reactions were down the road when I go back to eventually read the book again.
