As much as I would love to use my brand new passport to go on a habitat trip this Thanksgiving, I’m not really thrilled about using Angel Flight which has had 3 crashes in the past 3 months. I’m sure everything will be fine for those who do go. . .I’m just not there. . .

So Bahamas.
There is a really great opportunity for me to go to the Bahamas this Thanksgiving to work on rebuilding homes that have been damaged by the hurricanes. It’s through habitat, and the cost is relatively low. The issue I’m having is transportation. Instead of flying commercially, the group is using angel flight for transport. This is great, saves time, and a great deal of money, however, angel flight has had 3 fatal crashes in the past three months, and I’m kind of leery. I fly all the time for personal as well as professional reasons, however, I’m not sure what standards volunteer pilots are held to as opposed to commercial flights. Furthermore, I have, quite frankly, been leery about smaller planes. Not to mention the leer jet that just crashed a couple of days ago with DJ AM involved. Not a good sign for me. So, I’m just rethinking this and trying to find out if flying commercially is an option. I do not want to be separated from the group, however, I just cannot see myself climbing into a crop duster to go to the Bahamas.

I’ve taken trips to Mexico (two 1-week trips), Honduras (2 months), and Peru (2 months).
