It was just perfect. It was my first marathon at all and I just wanted to finish, no matter what pace. I ran a half-marathon one month before and had more trouble with that. I think my one weemk carbo-diet helped a lot. In addition I took 4 Power Gels during the race, just to make sure not hitting the wall. And it worked out perfectly, no energy problems at all. On the last 2 miles I had some problems with my muscles though, so I had to walk a short while. This wont be my last marathon, definitely not! To be cheered at the curb makes it absolutely worth it.

Plagued by injuries! I sprained my foot or something. I’m not sure. I ran 15 miles. With all the struggles that I’m going through, I should be proud of myself for making it this far. I’m not giving up on the Honolulu Marathon yet, but worst case scenario, I’ll run the LA Marathon. ;)
Yay! I ran 14 miles today in about 4.5 hours! I’m slowly getting there! It felt really good and now I need to take a cold shower!
I’ve been plagued with shin splints injuries ever since the beginning of my training session! Does anyone have any tips on preventing injuries?
It was all worth it for the vacation! ;) Make sure you train for the hill at Diamond Head and bring your own sport drink. Otherwise consider it at 26.2 mile tour of Honolulu and enjoy.
