Get divorced & get on with the rest of my life!

Well, after a long time trying to get the house sold and all the financial matters and such handled, I think this is done. So now I just need to find something to do with the rest of my life…

The divorce is final. Papers came in the mail today. Now we just need to get the house sold so I’m not carrying the financial responsibility for that into the rest of my life. Anyone want to buy a house in southern Oregon?...

I stopped by the house last Tuesday. Carol had signed the papers and they were supposed to be sent to the judge sometime last week. We should get the final notice from the court sometime this week. Still no offers on the house…

I received the papers in the mail from the lawyer yesterday, signed them and stuffed them back in the mail to him this morning. Now Carol has to sign and they get sent to the judge…

The house has been listed for 3 weeks, and Carol says they’ve been getting quite a bit of interest but no bids so far. She’s pretty impatient to get things done, so I’m not really worried about that part of things taking too long…

This weekend, I signed all the papers that should be necessary to get the house sold. Carol’s dealing with all the details, working with the real estate agent and such. I’m not feeling too guilty about that, though, because she’s also going to be the one profiting from the sale the most. The real estate people think the house should sell pretty quickly. I’m not sure if Carol’s had the lawyer start drawing up the divorce papers or not, but he doesn’t think that should take very long.

My wife found an attorney to draw up all the papers and such. She’s getting ready to put the house on the market so I won’t have to keep trying to juggle my bills and the house payment and such. I’m thinking that this goal may be marked complete within a month or so…

Fortunately no kids; not a hugely unfriendly sort of thing. We just both know that we’re making each other miserable, and we can’t keep doing this: Life’s too short, as the saying goes. I got a new apartment today, so I’ll be moving out this weekend, but we still need to find out what’s going to happen with the house. Would have been so much easier to never have married in the first place, but you live and learn, I suppose…

....So if you’re thinking about marriage….THINK HARDER!!!
