to quit them through the end of June… (with the idea that this break would provide some time to get over the addiction)
last week, (after July 1) I tried Text Twirl once, on Facebook, and found that it didn’t suck me in, in that dangerous way it used to… which was a good thing!
only games have been cubis a couple of times and scrabulous, neither which fit into the above category.
... my problem is not only the timesink that text games represent, but that i start thinking of all words that i encounter in my day in terms of text twisting… For example, I’ll see a word on a sign, say, and start brainstorming different words that could be made from the component letters… Harmless enough, and fun, but not so fun if one keeps doing that when one really needs to focus on other things…
especially since one of my friends nudged me to continue a Facebook text twirl game… but i stood fast…
i figure if i can build up some self-control in this smaller area, it might shore me up for greater and scarier areas…
i renounce text twirl, word twist and all other such text twisting games from now through the end of June.
Done.
