Knit a Harry Potter scarf

i’ve decided i’m going to start on this right away!

of course, this is all tied up in one of my other 43things: learn to knit! so i’m going to try and visit my grandma this weekend so she can teach me to knit.

i’ve printed out a knitting pattern [http://knit.atypically.net/scarves/hogwarts/pattern.shtml] and i hope my scarf looks like this http://billi-jean.com/images/lj/0704/hpscarf1.jpg when i’m finished!

And yet so, so far.

This thing will be finished today or I’ll weep.

..that it would be really, really hard to screw up a pattern with only two (easy) rows.

Somehow I managed. Hopefully my friend won’t notice.

Oh, and this has to be done by her birthday.. next week. AAAAAH. It’s about two feet long now and it needs to be six feet. D:

Luckily the other friend will be in England when HBP premieres so her scarf doesn’t need to be done for months.

I’ve got at least three of these to make before the Half Blood Prince midnight showing in about two months. Halp.

(I chose this pattern instead because I hate circular needles plus plain stripes bore me)

I have the pattern and everything!

I finished house scarves for all four houses from both PS/SS/CoS and PoA/GoF/OotP. I also knit the Hogwarts stripped scarf from GoF. Lots of fun, great presents. I can crank one out a week.

I have a Gryffindor one and a Slytherin one, actually, that I knitted myself.

I made a Slytherin scarf ages ago…. it took forever, but it’s so pretty!

I actually finally finished the Slytherin scarf for my best friend in time to brave the rain last july for the Midnight Deathly Hallows do, we were in full hogwarts uniform so it made it just that bit more special and kept us dry =D Still trying to finish the hufflepuff and Ravenclaw scarves…Hopefully done in time for Half Blood Prince premiere

I just recently started knitting and actually thought abought doing this (i love Harry Potter!). I am going to make a scarf for every house!!!
