I’ve been averaging 8-even 9 hours every night, but that’s probably mostly attributed to unemployment. I hope that I keep this up once I am employed again, because it feels amazing to be well-rested and not chugging coffee all day long.

I am person who needs her sleep but, unfortunately, I don’t like to go to bed at 9:00 p.m. If I did that, I would not even get a chance to eat dinner… and it would make me feel like an eight year-old.
So, in order to meet my goal of getting 8 hours of sleep a night, I have decided to get up a bit later. I was arriving at my job at 7:45 or 7:55 when I don’t need to be there until 8:30. I have decided that 8:30 a.m. is a good time to arrive at work.
Last night, I got 8.5 hours of sleep and went to be after 10:30 p.m.
Yeah!

Whenever I have 8 (or, dare to dream, even 9) hours of sleep, I feel better. I am more awake, better able to focus and less irritable.
I am not in favour of the American business model of getting less sleep in order to get more things done. One can only do that for so long.
Eight hours of sleep every night would improve the quality of my life and help me achieve some of the things on this list.

already suck at this goal. :[ Seriously, 7-8 hours per night, not so bad/difficult, one might think. I know people who need ~9-11 hours per night, so this shouldn’t be so complicated. If only the internets would stop giving me so many asinine things to look up and read about…
