go to Alaska

I had the opportunity to spend several weeks there many years ago and I have wanted to return ever since. It’s an amazing, huge state. I loved the glaciers, got tired of driving for hours and not seeing the scenery change, and loved our excursion to “Chicken”! Definitely a place to go if you enjoy the outdoors.

Flying back to school from San Francisco last Spring Break afforded me the chance to fly to Anchorage. American Airlines (an airline I would never recommend to a friend) asked for volunteers to switch on a later flight due to overbooking, in exchange for $400 vouchers. Pete and I immediately agreed it was a good idea. We researched early and found that round-trip to Anchorage in late May was $422 plus tax, so we booked it up. Stayed in Seward for a week at a hostel (there are plenty of cheap hostels in the Seward area) and had an amazing time. Trip highlight: photographing breaching humpback whales on the Kenai Fjords boat tour.

FIND A WAY AND GO!

I wonder what it would be like to do a road trip to Alaska. It would be a very long trip, but I’m sure that I would get to see a lot of interesting things along the way. I’d have to make sure that I did the road trip in the summer, and not in the winter!

I am passionate about going to Alaska because I believe I am called there. I have had a vision and several dreams about Alaska, which I believe were God inspired and through which I know I will minister there someday. For the last seven years, this longing to go to Alaska has grown and grown until now I can hardly stand it! There’s nowhere else I want to be. But most of all, I want to have an awesome wild, adventurous romance with God. What better place for that than in the most beautiful, wild, gloriously free place I can imagine…Alaska.

I want to go on a cruise to Alaska.

I want to go to Alaska or Alaskan cruise.

Go to Alaska. That was my father’s dream his whole life. He passed away before going there. I want to see it for him. I loved my father and miss him very much. We would say we would see Alaska together. I know we will still be seeing it “together”.

i got accepted to the Alaska Bible Institute in Homer, Alaska and I’m leaving this coming september…

Fishing in Alaska is the ultimate! I could see salmon running all over the place. Even though I was a beginner, I still managed to catch a few. A few of my friends live there and are experts, so they really helped me out a lot – and the best part is they skinned and cooked the fish right on the river. They even smoked some for me – yum yum!

Maybe if I keep writing about it, I’ll eventually get there! :-)
