    Wine 3 weeks ago

I would like to learn more about wine, and also discover my favorites. I like wine as it is and know one or two types that I enjoy, but I am not very knowledgeable.

This sounds like a fun event to do before going out for the evening too. :)

about a guy who moved to France and started growing grapes for his new red wine business and it looked so lovely. The only wine I like is white but I know red is better for your health (if alcohol can be good for your health) because of the anti-oxidants and whatnot. For this reason, I’d really like to go to a wine tasting class either near home or further away. I don’t drink very often and even then I don’t enjoy getting drunk even though it seems to be a big part of British culture nowadays, so I’d like to be able to appreciate wine more with meals etc.

OK….decided we like Syncline in the Columbia Gorge so much we joined their wine club. Also tried The Pines, which is in Hood River, Oregon and it was yummy!

must have been a similar goal

wine tasting in a bar or shop is a different thing than touring wine country and trying pinot noirs and cabernet francs all around a region.

Wine tasting here in Northern California ideally means having a day in the wine country with friends. Sometimes we go only to one winery that is having a wine tasting event, and chill. This is my total favorite.

One thing I have not done and will do one day soon I hope is rent a limo with friends and devise a tour of maybe four wineries. We’ll stay at a cottage in the wine country, or maybe out at our place on the coast which stubbornly sits on the market, and make the next day a spa day.

Wine Tasting in the Columbia Gorge 2 years ago

I’ve been on several wine tasting excursions in the Columbia Gorge region, which includes Washington State and Oregon. Incredibly beautiful area, in the shadow of Mt. Hood and the big blue Columbia River..this area has so much to offer. Highly recommended wineries I’m familiar with include Syncline, Pheasant Valley, Cathedral Ridge, Maryhill, and Erin Glenn. Preparing to expand my palete for other regions in the near future.

I went and tried.... 2 years ago

...all of the different wines (that were available for tasting) at the local wine wholesaler. But to me, every single one tasted undrinkable.

I didn’t know whether it was me, my taste buds, or whether the wine truly was appalling. Perhaps I just wasn’t in the mood for wine that evening?

a place to try 2 years ago

Luigi’s in Fayetteville NC has wine tasting on Thursday nights, I have always wanted to try this but I have never felt comfortable with doing it because of my son, I want to make sure I can enjoy the tastes and savor the moments with out my 3 year old screaming in my ear….

Now that I think about this, maybe I can convince my friend to try this out with me while my husband watches our son. I’m still trying to get used to my hubby being state side again.
