FM 195.87: Radio Emilia

Out of curiosity, I asked Juho that if he could add one goal to my list here, what would it be and he said:
“Have the courage to cut my hair short some day”
He really has some type of a fixation about seeing me with short hair one day, because he keeps bringing it up! :D I guess he’s just curious to see me with a different look and he thinks that I’d still look just as cute with short hair.
I’m just very doubtful about short hair because I used to have really short hair for so long when I was younger and I think I looked like a boy back then. :s Not really interested in getting that specific look back. But some day… well, we’ll see.

Never before had I feared Friday 13th, but last week my mind changed a bit. You see, I had a bit of a scary episode involving my kitchen corner, a hotplate and my toaster.
My kitchen corner is very, very small, so I sometimes have to keep stuff on the hotplates. This hasn’t really been a problem before, but you can be sure that I’ll truly hesitate doing that anymore.
Friday morning I was studying for my exam and getting ready to leave shortly, when I noticed that something smelled funny. I lifted my gaze from the papers and saw the kitchen corner. There was smoke, lots of it. Coming from my toaster, that was resting on one of the hotplates. I totally panicked. How had the hotplate been turned on? I have no idea how that had happened, I must have accidentally bumped the switch or something. It’s a real mystery to me still.
I did my best at saving my kitchen corner and also swiftly caught the bunnies and put them in the safety of my bathroom, as the smoke was filling the room. The smoke smelled really bad and made me cough a lot, causing my throat to get sore for a couple of days.

But yeah, my toaster didn’t make it. :( It totally melted from the bottom, as you can see in the photos. I can only be thankful that it wasn’t plugged into the wall, otherwise there might have been a much worse accident. I do miss my toaster a lot now though, RIP.
I’ve luckily managed to clean the hotplate now, I was quite worried that it would be damaged for good. Couldn’t really afford to buy a new hotplate here.

my baby nephew. ♥
After the hectic weekend I’m finally able to post photos of him now! He’s so little and cute and funny and… baby-like! :D His hair also has a little bit of red in it!
I truly hope that he has a wonderful life ahead of him. I’ll do my best to help out with that.

My mother called me just a moment ago, when I was on the bus: my sister gave birth to a healthy baby boy! It’s a boy! It’s a boy! It’s a boy!!! A boy, wow. Most of the kids in my family are girls, so it’s really special to get a boy. :D Rather unbelievable, actually!
I have a nephew! Wheeeee! ♥♥♥

Juho and I came back from another stand-up comedy night just a while ago. When we came round the corner of the house, I looked at the yard ahead of me and thought to myself “ahaa, now there’s another rock here that looks just like a hedgehog”. You see, there’s this really round rock just in front of Juho’s window and every time I look out, I think there’s a hedgehog there.
So, now I looked at this new rock, started properly staring at it and then realized that, in fact, it was not a rock after all. It was a real hedgehog this time! Squeee! :3
I could have easily gotten a good photo of it, but I chose not to – didn’t want to scare the little thing with my camera’s flash, probably would have given him or her a heart attack. We spent a little while with the cute creature, trying to get close to it (which we did!) and bringing it some snacks. Such a cutie! ♥ Oh I love hedgehogs. Both of us are still just squeeing here now! What a lovely late night encounter!

On Wednesday night Juho and I went to a party called “Naamat” in the Ruma (=Ugly) night club & bar. This party is an annual tradition of TTVO, Juho’s school. _{The name ‘naamat’ means faces. Their slogan is “See faces. Be faces.” To be faces is a Finnish slang expression for being drunk. :P}
We went there a bit late, but despite of that we had a great time there. We got to socialize with people, I got to know some of Juho’s friends even better and we had a lot of fun. Ruma is probably my favorite bar in Tampere, mainly because they play the best music there. We got to dance our feet off, yay! I had been wanting to go out dancing, I’m glad I got to do that again after a while. :) And it’s fun to be surrounded by people who study art and media, they’re interesting and colourful.

One thing: You have not seen anything before you’ve seen Juho and Heikki go against each other in a dance battle, which involved a big, glittery pole. You can use your imagination, but I bet you still won’t get the whole image of this hilarious scene. Man, I wish I had a video recording of that! They seriously cracked me up, they were hysterical. I had one of the best laughs in a while. xD

Also, one of Juho’s friends suddenly just creeped up behind me and whispered “You two make a really cute couple!” into my ear. Awww. :3
Another friend of Juho’s must have been really drunk, because he told me that I had “really pretty legs”. Bwahahaa, right. Besides, don’t they usually say that to women who are wearing skirts? I was wearing normal jeans after all, haha! In any case, hilarious.

a 12h long day at the university is a very long day. I’m so tired right now, you wouldn’t even believe! But in any case, I did have a nice day for the most part, learned loads, saw people, the lenght of the day just might prove to be problematic in the long run.
I’m feeling really cross-eyed and sleepy, but I can’t go to bed yet because I need to finish a group assignment, even though none of my group members seem to be participating. Hmph. I can barely think straight!

I heard that they are making a real movie out of the Finnish Rare Exports short films (1 and 2 here), wohoo! I can’t wait to see it, I’m pretty sure that it’ll be totally awesome! The filming will start in about a month.
Christmas will never be the same again, bwahahaaa!
