intern at World Vision

I had my phone interview with World Vision today. It went pretty well. I already knew that my being only a freshman might make finding an internship harder, because they prefer junior and seniors.

She gave me a list of a few internships I could choose to apply for, and I picked to work in the Gifts In Kind department. At GIK they receive donations and figure out the best way to distribute them. They also partner with other organizations to enhance the gift.

It may not be exactly in the field of economics (one of my majors), but it is a start! Hopefully I can do it again next year and get something more related to my field of study.

I spoke with an employee at World Vision and scheduled a phone interview for Monday. By that time I need to have filled out their online application and submitted it. It might be difficult getting an internship there because they usually ‘hire’ juniors and seniors in college because they have gone through a large portion of their course work. I’ve just scratched the surface of mine, but I know I would be a great choice because I am so passionate about my future and World Vision’s ideals. I know I would be an asset to them.
