is there such thing as a flock of peacocks?

What people don't tell you about sheep... 2 years ago

is that they can be very affectionate and strangely kind. I kept sheep as a child, and still consider that to be one of the most satisfying parts of childhood.

    I don't have a "real" flock 3 years ago

but I have the next best thing, all my mom’s stuffed sheep. And taking care of them is pretty easy, because the only predator they have is my aunt.

I got my first sheep, a bottle lamb named Pixie. Here’s a picture of my dad and me with Pixie after she won reserve champion ewe at the 4-H fair when she was a yearling.

what's not to love about sheep? 4 years ago

My grandfather was a landowner in Kerman province, in Iran, so for birthdays I’d get sheep and land, from him, instead of toys. (Later, after the civil war, we lost most of our property, including all of my stuff, to the new government.) Whenever I see a Kerman rug, it makes me smile to think that the wool may have come from one of my sheep.

It’s always nice to see a flock grow and thrive before your very eyes. Spring is usually the best time of the year—when you see the lambs being born and frolicking in the pasture only a few days afterwards.
