Build a space ship

all my life i have wannted to go into space and i have desinged many things and many spaceships to get there, but all i have to do is build one now 23 months ago

Having had the pleasure of growing up during the Apollo hey-day, I have always had this small voice in the back of my head constantly telling me that this can be done. I have been awoke from a dead sleep with answers to questions that only an MIT Astro-Physics Engineer would know….but somehow it’s in laymans terms where I can understand it…so then I started writing all of my ideas and theories down. Sixty some-odd notebooks later, I’m still writing and still see me doing this….LET’S GET BUSY…...(I work well with others!) 2 years ago

if we all banded together we could have something like an ‘openspaceship’ project like open-source…everyone contributes to a subproject and we build it together..basically one group designs a gps navigation unit…one group the life monitoring system…one group does _...if you can’t help build or design you can contribute financially or through resources..what it really entails is project management…when you subdivide the goal into smaller more manageable tasks it’s just like programming and I see this easily coming into life…the cool thing since it follows the open source model is that I predict there would be many splinter factions as there are many different browsers, desktops, email programs, etc.
there are already social sites that are massive and have hundreds of thousands of members..how hard would it be to organize this?

just wanted to update this post because I just recently launched a website at http://www.openship.net specifically for this purpose. This website is primarily right now just a place for developers to get together to plan out what the real cms will be like; however users can definitely post in the wiki/forums for right now. 5 years ago

well, I do think it would be very cool to build a space vehicle. I don’t know how much like Star Wars it would be, but there is alot of industry just waiting for us there. 5 years ago
